In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Prakash Chandra Majhi of BJD won in this constituency beating Uldhar Majhi of INC by a margin of 31,370 votes which was 17.96% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ramesh Chandra Majhi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Uldhar Majhi of INC by a margin of 11,196 votes which was 7.2% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramesh Chandra Majhi of BJD won this seat defeating Jalandhar Majhi of INC by a margin of 22,276 votes which was 18.6% of the total votes polled for the seat.
