In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Dibya Shankar Mishra of BJD won in this constituency beating Manoj Kumar Meher of BJP by a margin of 27,859 votes which was 15.24% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dibya Sankar Mishra of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Anil Kumar Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 9,945 votes which was 6.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Gobardhan Dash of INC won this seat defeating Bira Sipka of BJD by a margin of 6,537 votes which was 4.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
