In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Rajkishore Das of BJD won in this constituency beating Dr Krushna Chandra Mahapatra of BJP by a margin of 6,704 votes which was 3.74% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Praveen Chandra Bhanjdeo of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Rajkishore Das of BJP by a margin of 6,956 votes which was 4.27% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Praveen Chandra Bhanjdeo of BJD won this seat defeating Bimal Lochan Das of JMM by a margin of 6,201 votes which was 4.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
