There were a total of 2,29,979 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election, of which 1,16,213 were male, 1,13,747 female and 19 of the third gender. In the 2019 Assembly elections, there were a total of 2,16,633 registered voters, of which 1,16,213 were male, 1,06,418 female and 14 of the third gender. In 2014 elections, there were a total of 1,96,488 registered voters in this constituency, of which 1,00,709 were male, 95,776 female and 3 of the third gender. In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Bhupinder Singh of BJD won in this constituency beating Aniruddha Padhan of BJP by a margin of 9,020 votes which was 5.27% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dhaneswar Majhi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Jagannath Pattnayak of INC by a margin of 15,768 votes which was 10.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bhupinder Singh of INC won this seat defeating Srikant Hota of BJP by a margin of 27,512 votes which was 20.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
