In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Ramesh Chandra Jena of INC won in this constituency beating Nandini Devi of BJD by a margin of 23,727 votes which was 16.05% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Nandini Devi of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Ramesh Chandra Jena of INC by a margin of 8,222 votes which was 6.27% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ramesh Chandra Jena of INC won this seat defeating Kishore Chandra Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 23,593 votes which was 23.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
