In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, P M L Kalyanasundaram of BJP won in this constituency beating A Senthil alias Ramesh of IND by a margin of 3508 votes which was 11.97% of the total votes cast. In 2016, M.O.H.F. Shahjahan of INC was the winner in this seat beating P.M.L. Kalyanasundaram of IND by a margin of 634 votes which was 2.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, P.M.L. Kalyana Sundaram of AINRC won this seat defeating M.O.H.F Shahjahan of INC by a margin of 6366 votes which was 28.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
