In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, A M H Nazim of DMK won in this constituency beating K A U Assana Marecar of AIADMK by a margin of 12034 votes which was 49.66% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K.A.U. Asana of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating A.M.H. Nazeem of DMK by a margin of 20 votes which was 0.08% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, A.M.H. Nazeem of DMK won this seat defeating V.K. Ganapathy of IND by a margin of 1576 votes which was 7.41% of the total votes polled for the seat.
