In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, R Siva of DMK won in this constituency beating S V Sugumaran of AINRC by a margin of 6950 votes which was 19.98% of the total votes cast. In 2016, A. Namassivayam of INC was the winner in this seat beating Jayakumar of AINRC by a margin of 8281 votes which was 26.26% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, A. Namassivayam of INC won this seat defeating Nadarajan .K of AINRC by a margin of 1541 votes which was 6.12% of the total votes polled for the seat.
