In 2013, Rampal of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Panachand Meghwal of INC by a margin of 20,600 votes which was 14.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 52.72% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Panachand of INC won this seat beating Madan Dilawar of BJP by a margin of 16,574 votes which was 14.12% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 55.1% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,062 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Baran-Atru is: 24°53'02.4"N 76°34'39.0"E.
