In 2013, Gopal Krishna of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dr Bulaki Das Kalla of INC by a margin of 6,424 votes which was 4.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 49.85% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Gopal Krishan of BJP won this seat beating Dr Bulakidas Kalla of INC by a margin of 18,861 votes which was 18.38% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 55.12% in the seat.

Bikaner West comprises of the following areas of Bikaner district in the North region of Rajasthan: Tehsil Bikaner (Partly) – (I) Municipal Council Bikaner (Partly) – Ward No 1 to 4, 14 to 19, 21, 29 to 35, 44 to 49 and 53 to 55 (II) IlRC Bikaner (Partly) – (i) PC Karmisar (Rural).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 146 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bikaner West is: 28°00'12.2"N 73°13'17.8"E.
