In the 2008 elections, Kailash Bhansali of BJP won this seat beating Jugal Kabra of INC by a margin of 8,599 votes which was 8.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 49.7% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 30 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Jodhpur is: 26°14'25.1"N 73°03'02.9"E.
