In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A Bannari of AIADMK won in this constituency beating P L Sundaram of CPI by a margin of 16008 votes which was 8.06% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Eswaran.S of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Sathya.R of DMK by a margin of 13104 votes which was 6.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sundaram P.L of CPI won this seat defeating Logeswari R of DMK by a margin of 19403 votes which was 11.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
