In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Giri M P of DMK won in this constituency beating Nainakannu M S of AIADMK by a margin of 11570 votes which was 5.19% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Giri .M.P of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Dinagaran. M of AIADMK by a margin of 12691 votes which was 6.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Suresh@Sureshkumar.T of DMDK won this seat defeating Selvaperunthagai.K of INC by a margin of 11497 votes which was 6.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
