In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, G Iyappan of DMK won in this constituency beating M C Sampath of AIADMK by a margin of 5151 votes which was 2.85% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sampath M C of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Pugazhendi Ela of DMK by a margin of 24413 votes which was 14.14% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, M.C. Sampath of AIADMK won this seat defeating E.Pugazhendi of DMK by a margin of 33678 votes which was 23.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
