Dindigul Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Dindigul district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Dindigul Taluk (Part) Settinaickenpatti, Alukkuvarpatty, Silapadi, Mullipadi, Ammakulathupatti, Tamaraipadi, Kovilur, Periyakottai and Kurumbapatti villages. Pallapatti (CT), Dindigul (M) and Balakrishnapuram (CT).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 111 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Dindigul is: 10°22'46.2"N 77°59'09.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 69.27%, while it was 74.59% in 2016, and 76.85% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sreenivasan C of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Pandi N of CPIM by a margin of 17747 votes which was 9.18% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sreenivasan C of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Basheer Ahamed M of DMK by a margin of 20719 votes which was 11.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Balabharathi.K. of CPIM won this seat defeating Paul Baskar .J of PMK by a margin of 39115 votes which was 26.46% of the total votes polled for the seat.
