Kadayanallur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Tirunelveli district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Shenkottai Taluk Tenkasi Taluk (Part) Chockampatti, Boganallur, Kambaneri Pudukudi, Kanagasabapathiperi, Poygai, Urmelazhagian, Kilankadu, Nainaragaram, Idaikal, Kasidharmam and Kodikurichi villages. Kadayanallur (M), Sambavar Vadagarai (TP) and Ayikudi (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 528 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kadayanallur is: 9°03'47.2"N 77°17'49.6"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 70.35%, while it was 71.28% in 2016, and 75.47% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, C Krishnamurali of AIADMK won in this constituency beating K A M Muhammed Abubacker of IUML by a margin of 24349 votes which was 11.92% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Muhammed Abubacker.K.A.M of IUML was the winner in this seat beating Sheik Dawood. S of AIADMK by a margin of 1194 votes which was 0.63% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chendur Pandian .P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Peter Alphonse .S of INC by a margin of 16086 votes which was 9.92% of the total votes polled for the seat.
