In 2016, Prabhu A of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Kamaraj P of DMK by a margin of 4104 votes which was 1.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.Alaguvelu of AIADMK won this seat defeating A.C.Pavarasu of VCK by a margin of 59998 votes which was 33.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
