In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sinthanai Selvan of VCK won in this constituency beating N Murugumaran of AIADMK by a margin of 10565 votes which was 6.04% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Murugumaran.N of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Thirumaavalavan.Thol of VCK by a margin of 87 votes which was 0.05% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, N.Murugumaran of AIADMK won this seat defeating D.Ravikumar of VCK by a margin of 31725 votes which was 21.91% of the total votes polled for the seat.
