In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Sivasankar S S of DMK won in this constituency beating Ramachandran R T of AIADMK by a margin of 6329 votes which was 2.89% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ramachandran.R.T of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Durairaj.T of DMK by a margin of 18796 votes which was 9.17% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sivasankar.S.S of DMK won this seat defeating Durai.Kamaraj of DMDK by a margin of 22957 votes which was 13.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
