In 2016, Moorthy P of DMK was the winner in this seat beating P Pandi of AIADMK by a margin of 32772 votes which was 15.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Tamilarasan K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Moorthy P of DMK by a margin of 28755 votes which was 15.99% of the total votes polled for the seat.
