In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Kothandan A of DMK won in this constituency beating Sumitha P of NTK by a margin of 3570 votes which was 1.94% of the total votes cast. In 2016, S.Pugazhenthi of DMK was the winner in this seat beating C.K.Thamizharasan of AIADMK by a margin of 2957 votes which was 1.66% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, S. Kanitha of AIADMK won this seat defeating Dr.K. Jayakumar of INC by a margin of 18494 votes which was 12.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
