In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, R Mani of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Rangarajan Mohan Kumaramangalam of INC by a margin of 55294 votes which was 22.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Vetrivel.S of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Ammasi.S of DMK by a margin of 19956 votes which was 8.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Krishnan.C of AIADMK won this seat defeating Tamizharasu.A of PMK by a margin of 46544 votes which was 24.79% of the total votes polled for the seat.
