In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Durai Chandrasekar of INC won in this constituency beating Balaraman P of AIADMK by a margin of 9689 votes which was 4.64% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Balaraman P of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Parimalam K Doctor of DMK by a margin of 19336 votes which was 9.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Pon. Raja of AIADMK won this seat defeating Manimekalai, A. of DMK by a margin of 31073 votes which was 19.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
