In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Karthikeyan K of DMK won in this constituency beating Santhosh A of AIADMK by a margin of 41728 votes which was 19.62% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Karthikeyan.K of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Dhandapani.K of AIADMK by a margin of 20503 votes which was 10.42% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Vijaykant of DMDK won this seat defeating Sivaraj.S of INC by a margin of 30795 votes which was 17.97% of the total votes polled for the seat.
