In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Palaniyandi M of DMK won in this constituency beating Kupa Krishnan of AIADMK by a margin of 19915 votes which was 8.37% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Valarmathi.S of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Palaniyandi.M of DMK by a margin of 14409 votes which was 6.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, J Jayalalithaa of AIADMK won this seat defeating N Anand of DMK by a margin of 41848 votes which was 23.44% of the total votes polled for the seat.
