This constituency covers an approximate area of 687 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Srivilliputhur is: 9°34'19.2"N 77°37'28.6"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Manraj E M of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Madhavarao P S W of INC by a margin of 12738 votes which was 6.95% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chandra Prabha. M of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Muthukumar.C of PT by a margin of 36673 votes which was 20.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V. Ponnupandi of CPI won this seat defeating R.V.K.Durai of DMK by a margin of 6228 votes which was 4.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
