Tenkasi Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Tirunelveli district in the South region of Tamil Nadu: Veerakeralamputhur Taluk Tenkasi Taluk (Part) Kuthukalvalasai, Pattakurichi, Tiruchitrambalam, Melapavoor, Kulasekarapatti, Gunaramanallur, Pattappathu, Courtallam, Courtallam Slopes R.F., Ayiraperi, Mathalamparai, Sillaraipuravu, Kallurani, Thippanampatti and Avudaiyanoor villages. Tenkasi (M), Sundarapandiapuram (TP), Ilanji (TP), Melagaram (TP) and Courtalam (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 509 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Tenkasi is: 8°58'29.3"N 77°25'13.8"E.

Voter turnout

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 72.4%, while it was 77.02% in 2016, and 79.03% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Palani Nadar S of INC won in this constituency beating Selva Mohandas Pandian S of AIADMK by a margin of 370 votes which was 0.17% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Selvamohandas Pandian S of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Palani Nadar S of INC by a margin of 462 votes which was 0.23% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sarath Kumar.R of AIADMK won this seat defeating Karuppasami Pandian.V of DMK by a margin of 22967 votes which was 13.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
