In 2016, Manoharan A of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anbalagan S of PT by a margin of 18758 votes which was 11.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Dr.Duraiappa.S.,Mbbs., of AIADMK won this seat defeating Ganesan.S of INC by a margin of 28090 votes which was 19.78% of the total votes polled for the seat.
