In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Gandhirajan S of DMK won in this constituency beating Paramasivam V P B of AIADMK by a margin of 17553 votes which was 8.27% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Paramasivam V.P.B of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Sivasakthivel Gounder R of INC by a margin of 19938 votes which was 10.04% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Palanichamy. S. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Dhandapani. M. of INC by a margin of 50712 votes which was 30.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
