In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Gongidi Suneetha of TRS won in this seat defeating Budida Bikshamaiah of INC by a margin of 33,086 which was 17.28% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 49.55% in 2018 in this seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,311 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Alair is: 17°35'33.0"N 79°01'19.2"E.
