This constituency shares an inter-state border with: NTR district of Andhra Pradesh.

In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Bollam Mallaiah Yadav of TRS won in this seat defeating Padmavathi Reddy Nalamada of INC by a margin of 756 which was 0.39% of the total votes cast for the seat. TRS had a vote share of 45.96% in 2018 in this seat.
