This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Bijapur district of Chhatisgarh.

In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, Anasuya Dansari of INC won in this seat defeating Chandulal Azmeera of TRS by a margin of 22,671 which was 13.43% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 52.71% in 2018 in this seat.
