In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Madhusudan Bag of BJP won in this constituency beating Sujata Mondal of TMC by a margin of 7172 votes which was 3.31% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Krishna Chandra Santra of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Asit Malik of CPIM by a margin of 36457 votes which was 18.25% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Krishna Chandra Santra of TMC won this seat defeating Asit Kumar Malik of CPIM by a margin of 19563 votes which was 10.65% of the total votes polled for the seat.
