In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Moloy Ghatak of TMC won in this constituency beating Krishnendu Mukherjee of BJP by a margin of 21110 votes which was 11.14% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Moloy Ghatak of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Nirmal Karmakar of BJP by a margin of 23897 votes which was 13.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ghatak Moloy of TMC won this seat defeating Ranu Roychowdhury of CPIM by a margin of 47793 votes which was 30.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
