In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ashok Kumar Lahiri of BJP won in this constituency beating Sekhar Dasgupta of TMC by a margin of 13436 votes which was 8.94% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Biswanath Choudhury of RSP was the winner in this seat beating Chakravorti Shankar of TMC by a margin of 1450 votes which was 1.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Chakraborty Shankar of TMC won this seat defeating Biswanath Choudhury of RSP by a margin of 18291 votes which was 14.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
