In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Paresh Paul of TMC won in this constituency beating Kashinath Biswas of BJP by a margin of 67140 votes which was 42.78% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Paresh Paul of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Rajib Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 26179 votes which was 16.3% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Paresh Paul of TMC won this seat defeating Anadi Kumar Sahu of CPIM by a margin of 31688 votes which was 19.54% of the total votes polled for the seat.
