Bharatpur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Murshidabad district in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Bharatpur-II, 2. Alugram, Amlai, Bharatpur, Sijgram and Talgram GPs of CDB Bharatpur-I

This constituency covers an approximate area of 245 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bharatpur is: 23°49'57.0"N 88°05'06.7"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 77.73%, while it was 76.63% in 2016, and 81.51% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Humayun Kabir of TMC won in this constituency beating Iman Kalyan Mukherjee of BJP by a margin of 43083 votes which was 23.09% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Kamalesh Chatterjee (Gopal) of INC was the winner in this seat beating Khadem A Dastegir (Khadu) of TMC by a margin of 11017 votes which was 6.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Id Mohammad of RSP won this seat defeating Daliya Begum of INC by a margin of 1929 votes which was 1.3% of the total votes polled for the seat.
