Bongaon Uttar Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of North 24 Parganas district in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Bangaon (M), 2. Akaipur, Chhaigheria, Dharma Pukuria, Ganganandapur, Ghatbore, Gopalnagar-I and Gopalnagar-II GPs of CDB Bangaon

This constituency covers an approximate area of 161 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bongaon Uttar is: 23°05'26.2"N 88°46'48.0"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 81.82%, while it was 82.8% in 2016, and 86.39% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Ashok Kirtania of BJP won in this constituency beating Shyamal Roy of TMC by a margin of 10488 votes which was 5.16% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Biswajit Das of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Sushanta Bowali of AIFB by a margin of 33192 votes which was 17.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Biswajit Das of TMC won this seat defeating Dr. Biswajit Kumar Biswas of CPIM by a margin of 23620 votes which was 14.43% of the total votes polled for the seat.
