In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Azad Minhajul Arfin of TMC won in this constituency beating Sachin Prasad of BJP by a margin of 33837 votes which was 19.65% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ali Imran Ramz of AIFB was the winner in this seat beating Ashim Kumar Mridha of BJP by a margin of 27529 votes which was 18.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ali Imran Ramz of AIFB won this seat defeating Serajul Islam of INC by a margin of 20413 votes which was 16.3% of the total votes polled for the seat.
