In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Soham Chakraborty of TMC won in this constituency beating Pulak Kanti Guria of BJP by a margin of 13472 votes which was 6.14% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Amiyakanti Bhattacharjee of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Mangal Chand Pradhan of CPIM by a margin of 9654 votes which was 4.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Amiya Kanti Bhattacharjee (Kablu) of TMC won this seat defeating Bidyut Guchhait of CPIM by a margin of 11709 votes which was 6.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
