This constituency covers an approximate area of 7 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Chowrangee is: 22°33'56.9"N 88°21'13.3"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Bandyopadhyay Nayna of TMC won in this constituency beating Devdutta Maji of BJP by a margin of 45344 votes which was 41.12% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nayna Bandyopadhyay of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Somendranath Mitra of INC by a margin of 13216 votes which was 11.34% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Sikha Chowdhury(Mitra) of TMC won this seat defeating Bimal Singh of RJD by a margin of 57739 votes which was 52.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
