In 2016, Mamata Bhunia of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Swapan Santra of CPIM by a margin of 28739 votes which was 13.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ajit Bhunia of TMC won this seat defeating Sunil Adhikari of CPIM by a margin of 24927 votes which was 12.52% of the total votes polled for the seat.
