Domkal Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Murshidabad district in the South East Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. Ajimganjgola, Bhagirathpur, Domkal, Garaimari, Garibpur, Ghoramara, Jitpur, Juginda, Juranpur, Madhurkul, Raipur and Sarangpur GPs of CDB Domkal.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 275 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Domkal is: 24°04'22.8"N 88°33'24.1"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 84.63%, while it was 83.84% in 2016, and 89.58% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Jafikul Islam of TMC won in this constituency beating Md Mostafijur Rahaman (Rana) of CPIM by a margin of 47229 votes which was 21.11% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Anisur Rahaman of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Soumik Hossain of TMC by a margin of 6890 votes which was 3.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Anisur Rahaman of CPIM won this seat defeating Soumik Hossain of INC by a margin of 3075 votes which was 1.77% of the total votes polled for the seat.
