In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Lakshman Chandra Ghorui of BJP won in this constituency beating Biswanath Parial of TMC by a margin of 14664 votes which was 7.55% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Bishwanath Parial of INC was the winner in this seat beating Apurba Mukherjee of TMC by a margin of 44824 votes which was 22.48% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Apurba Mukherjee of TMC won this seat defeating Biprendu Kumar Chakraborty of CPIM by a margin of 17006 votes which was 9.55% of the total votes polled for the seat.
