Egra Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Purba Medinipur district in the South West Bengal region of West Bengal: 1. CDB Egra-I, 2. Egra (M), 3. Basudevpur, Deshbandhu, Dubda, Manjusree, Paniparul, Sarbaday and Bibekananda GPs of CDB Egra-II

This constituency covers an approximate area of 376 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Egra is: 21°50'02.8"N 87°32'00.6"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Tarun Kumar Maity of TMC won in this constituency beating Arup Dash of BJP by a margin of 18491 votes which was 7.72% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Das Samares of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Shaikh Mahmud Hossain of DSPP by a margin of 25956 votes which was 11.75% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Das Samares of TMC won this seat defeating Hrishikesh Paria of DSPP by a margin of 15953 votes which was 8.29% of the total votes polled for the seat.
