In 2016, Jyoti Priya Mallick of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Ashis Kantha Mukherjee of CPIM by a margin of 45947 votes which was 24.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Jyoti Priya Mallick of TMC won this seat defeating Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya of CPIM by a margin of 25392 votes which was 16.2% of the total votes polled for the seat.
