In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dr Asok Kumar Chattopadhyay of TMC won in this constituency beating Nikhil Banerjee of BJP by a margin of 50613 votes which was 24.31% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Miltan Rasid of INC was the winner in this seat beating Asit Kumar Mal of TMC by a margin of 16154 votes which was 8.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Asit Kumar Mal of INC won this seat defeating Kamal Hasan of RCPIR by a margin of 26452 votes which was 16.85% of the total votes polled for the seat.
