In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Asim Kumar Sarkar of BJP won in this constituency beating Nilima Nag (Mallick) of TMC by a margin of 15200 votes which was 7.26% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nilima Nag (Mallick) of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Ajoy Das of CPIM by a margin of 21349 votes which was 11.16% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Nilima Nag (Mallick) of TMC won this seat defeating Biswajit Paul of CPIM by a margin of 13003 votes which was 7.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
