This constituency covers an approximate area of 201 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Haripal is: 22°50'05.3"N 88°07'21.7"E.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Dr Karabi Manna of TMC won in this constituency beating Samiran Mitra of BJP by a margin of 23072 votes which was 10.61% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Becharam Manna E of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Jogiyananda Mishra of CPIM by a margin of 31475 votes which was 15.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Becharam Manna of TMC won this seat defeating Bharati Mukherjee of CPIM by a margin of 22073 votes which was 12.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
