In 2016, Becharam Manna E of TMC was the winner in this seat beating Jogiyananda Mishra of CPIM by a margin of 31475 votes which was 15.1% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Becharam Manna of TMC won this seat defeating Bharati Mukherjee of CPIM by a margin of 22073 votes which was 12.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
