Jadavpur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of South 24 Parganas district in the Greater Kolkata region of West Bengal: 1. Ward Nos. 96, 99, 101 to 106, 109 and 110 of Kolkata M. Corp.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 17 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Jadavpur is: 22°29'03.8"N 88°23'06.0"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 71.25%, while it was 74.58% in 2016, and 78.41% in 2011.

In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections, Debabrata Majumdar (Malay) of TMC won in this constituency beating Dr Sujan Chakraborty of CPIM by a margin of 38869 votes which was 18.28% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Sujan Chakraborty of CPIM was the winner in this seat beating Manish Gupta of TMC by a margin of 14942 votes which was 7.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Manish Gupta of TMC won this seat defeating Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee of CPIM by a margin of 16684 votes which was 8.45% of the total votes polled for the seat.
